Friday after school, Satchel, my 7-year-old, marched over to me and announced, “Video games are boring!”
“Yeah!” Jiro, my 5-year-old, echoed.
“I thought this day would never come!” I gleefully shouted in my head.
Somehow I forgot how messy their non-electronic pursuits can be. By Sunday my house probably would have qualified for federal disaster funding.
Satchel and Jiro started off drawing everything they could remember — and some things they imagined — from our trip to Yellowstone over the summer.
Each masterpiece was prominently displayed on the dining room table until there was no table left. Successive ones were displayed on the floor surrounding the table. Colored pencils were used as paper weights/parental death traps...(Read more)>
