Snow-day policy leaves mom questioning

As a child, I peered outside a Memphis City School window on many days, hoping for snow. On the days that it actually did snow, we anxiously waited to see if it would stick to the streets. If it stuck, then we'd be dismissed early. I remember being sorely disappointed on many occasions when it did not stick.

What I don't remember was being let out early, only to get home and find that there was very little or no snow. I also don't remember my parents ever being annoyed by leaving work early to retrieve me and my sisters for a false alarm. But I'm the first to admit that I have a bad memory...(Read more).
