Sustainable restaurant organization turning 3

Project Green Fork will celebrate its third birthday on Thursday.

PGF executive director Margot McNeeley says there is plenty to celebrate for the organization that aims to contribute to sustainability in our community by helping local restaurants reduce their environmental impact.

PGF also focuses on strengthening homegrown restaurants.

PGF-certified restaurants must meet certain criteria, including using sustainable products, recycling, reducing energy and water consumption and practicing kitchen composting.

There are 34 certified restaurants -- Grill 83 Downtown being the most recent to complete the process -- and nine others working toward it...(Read more).
