Return to school is different this year

Back-to-school time has become much more monumental in our house this year due to my husband's student-teaching assignment. It's the last phase in his pursuit of a master's degree in elementary education.

Warren's been an archaeologist for the past 11 years, which basically means he hasn't worn a tie or even tucked his shirt in for quite some time. The kids (Satchel, 8, and Jiro, 6) and I accompanied him to the mall to pick out new clothes. I was thrilled to finally be consulted for fashion advice! Amazingly enough, the "skinny ties" he brought home from our recent trip to his childhood home in California seem to have come back in style.
