A few weeks ago, Satchel, my 7-year-old, went on a field trip to the Pink Palace. The kids were allowed to purchase something in the gift shop and, surprisingly, he picked out a ring rather than the usual dinosaur bones, rocks, etc.
It looked like it was made of marble, but when it broke almost immediately, I figured it was something else. Unfortunately, it broke into so many pieces that we couldn't glue it back together.
Ever since then, he'd been hot to get another ring, for whatever reason. On Saturday, Warren, the boys and I went on a (super fun) Backbeat Tour with my mom and niece. When it was over, we walked over to A. Schwab on Beale Street, since my mom had never been there. In all of the thousands of items for sale there, Satchel immediately zoned in on the rings.
